The Many Facets of Life

Very quizzical - but so very true - every one has it as a part of their life. It fits in very well. That is the best part. What describes a person stems from the very innateness of his or herself to demonstrate that through feelings in day to day activities. It just stems and overflows and makes the feeling's presence all around his or her own self.

What is it that makes each and every person so very different?

What makes every one stand so far apart?

Delve upon that part one can write volumes and it is the volumes that speak and not you or me.

Ashok Nair did you ever suffer from Amnesia!! this one is for you - another facet of life -

AMNESIA

Delve slowly on this un-trodden path,
Marshy, forgotten,
And slowly lost……………….
Shadows cast,
Faces drawn
Names dissolve,
In a smoky mist …………….
Then it feels as though,
All is lost.

Some of the best times of life and the initial phase that makes a person his whole self is when he is in school - the phase that describes me best shall be delved upn on the subsequent pages to come.

The first in that sequel is going to be called "GANGU MANIA"

Life as such

Life as such is very intriguing - it might not be as philosophical as it may sound.

There are many ado's to it. It is also very important how you see people around you. Do you see them as people you value or do you see them as just another guy. If you see them as just another guy in the block - you better watch out too because some one out there is going to get you and that too get you real bad.

Every one around you has an ability. It is for you to see that innate ability. Hone it. Get the maximum out of it to make that person useful to you. That way you also make yourself heard amongst the top brass. Your capability is also sensed and there is a clarity that they have found the best possible person they can opt for in you.

So go out there and prove it...............

The Eight steps to Glory in a Workplace

  1. Make relationships a priority. Invest time and energy into your existing relationships and the image others may have of you. Also repair damaged relationships, work at understanding others better and acknowledging their needs.
  2. Don't overplay your personal agenda. The power of relationships is an effective way to promote your own agenda, but it also risks having others perceive you as self-serving and not a team player. Take care to ensure that advancing your agenda is not seen as a misuse of power.
  3. Maximize your communication network. Consider the people you communicate with most. Is the information they're providing you unique or redundant? Expand your network and find people who may be untapped sources of information.
  4. Be generous with information. Hiding information can have negative consequences, so share information broadly and with integrity. However, don't make the opposite mistake and pass on information that's confidential or too personal.
  5. Be the expert. You can't have power unless there are people who perceive you as having power. To be viewed as having authentic "expert" power, be open about your experience, credentials and expertise.
  6. Reward with words. Give positive feedback often. Experience with leaders across industries shows a ratio of four positives to every negative for a receiver to think feedback has been fair. This ratio illustrates the importance of praising the good deeds.
  7. Punish with purpose. In today's complex global organizations, many employees are frustrated by the lack of accountability at all levels. When team members fail to meet expectations, corrective (but kind) feedback works wonders. Be explicit about consequences for behavior or results that fall short, and follow through consistently.
  8. Teach others. Leverage your full power without hoarding it. If you want to empower the people you lead, teach them to use the power available to them.

The Bridge Across Forever - Richard Bach

A beautiful book for "every one who has fallen in love" must read - A precious gift for my new Blog site reader Tran.

"The opposite of loneliness, it's not togetherness. It is intimacy."

"Next to God, love is the word most mangled in every language. The highest form of regard between two people is friendship, and when love enters, friendship dies."

“There are no mistakes. The events we bring upon ourselves, no matter how unpleasant, are necessary in order to learn what we need to learn; whatever steps we take, they're necessary to reach the places we've chosen to go.”

"Here's how people live here, in big house-shaped boxes to keep off "rain" and "snow," holes cut in the sides so they can see out. They move around in smaller boxes, painted different colors, with wheels on the corners. They need this box-culture because each person thinks of herself and himself as locked in a box called "body," arms and legs, fingers to move pencils and tools, languages because they've forgotten how to communicate, eyes because they've forgotten how to see."

“From time to time it's fun to close our eyes, and in that dark say to ourselves, 'I am the sorcerer, and when I open my eyes I shall see a world that I have created, and for which I and only I am completely responsible.' Slowly then, eyelids open like curtains lifting stage-center. And sure enough, there's our world, just the way we've built it."

"Look in a mirror and one thing's sure: what we see is not who we are."

"The only thing that shatters dreams is compromise."

"The best way to pay for a lovely moment is to enjoy it."

“That's what learning is, after all; not whether we lose the game, but how we lose and how we've changed because of it and what we take away from it that we never had before, to apply to other games. Losing, in a curious way, is winning.”

“It is by not always thinking of yourself, if you can manage it, that you might somehow be happy. Until you make room in your life for someone as important to you as yourself, you will always be searching and lost...”

“Do you know what I learned from you? I learned what is possible, and now I must hold out for what I thought we had. I want to be very close to someone I respect and admire and have somebody who feels the same way about me. That or nothing. I realized that what I'm looking for is not what you're looking for. You don't want what I want.”

" 'Boredom between two people, she said one evening, doesn't come from being together, physically. It comes from being apart, mentally and spiritually.' Obvious to her, it was such a startling thought to me that I wrote it down."

"We're the bridge across forever, arching above the sea, adventuring for our pleasure, living mysteries for the fun of it, choosing disasters triumphs challenges impossible odds, testing ourselves over and again, learning love and love and LOVE!"

One - Richard Bach

Excerpts from the wonderful book One by Richard Bach - a must read by everyone:

What if you could find a way into those parallel worlds, it whispered. What if you could meet the Richard and Leslie you were before you made your worst mistakes and smartest moves? What if you could warn them, thank them, ask them any question you dared? What might they know about living, about youth and age and dying, about peace and war, responsibility, choices and consequences, about the world you think is real?
Go away, I said.
You think you don't belong in this world with its wars and destructions, its hatred and violence? Why do you live here?
Let me sleep, I said. Good Night, it said.
But ghost-minds never sleep, and I heard pages turning in my dreams.
I'm awake now, and the questions remain. D
o our choices really change our worlds?
What if science turns out to be true?

A tiny change today brings us to a dramatically different tomorrow.

There are grand rewards for those who pick the high hard roads, but those rewards are hidden by years.

Every choice is made in the uncaring blind, no guarantees from the world around us.

The only way to avoid all frightening choices is to leave society and become a hermit, and that is a frightening choice.

Character comes from following our highest sense of right, from trusting ideals without being sure they'll work.

One challenge of our adventure on earth is to rise above dead systems -- wars, religions, nations, destructions -- to refuse to be a part of them, and express instead the highest selves we know how to be.

No one can solve problems for someone whose problem is that they don't want problems solved.

No matter how qualified or deserving we are, we will never reach a better life until we can imagine it for ourselves and allow ourselves to have it.

Commerce is idea and choice expressed.

Look about you this moment: Everything you see and touch was once invisible idea until someone chose to bring it into being.

We can't give money to a needy alternative us in other beliefs of space and time, but we can give ideas which they can turn to fortunes of they choose.

Bad things are not the worst thing that can happen to us. Nothing is the worst thing that can happen to us!

An easy life doesn't teach us anything. In the end it's the learning that matters: what we've learned and how we've grown.

We can have excuses, or we can have health, love, longevity, understanding, adventure, money, happiness.

We design our lives through the power of our choices. We feel most helpless when we've made choices by default, when we haven't designed our lives on our own.

We are each given a block of marble when we begin a lifetime, and the tools to shape it into sculpture... We can drag it behind us untouched, we can pound it into gravel, we can shape it into glory.

We generate our own environment. We get exactly what we deserve. How can we resent the life we've created for ourselves? Who's to blame, who's to credit, but us? Who can change it, any time we wish, but us?

Any powerful idea is absolutely fascinating and absolutely useless until we choose to use it.

There's no disaster that can't become a blessing, and no blessing that can't become a disaster.

You are creatures of light. From light have you come, to light you shall go, and surrounding you through every step is the light of your infinite being.

By your choice dwell you now in the world which you have created.

What you hold in your heart shall be true, and what you most admire, that shall you become.

Fear not, nor be dismayed at the appearance that is darkness, at the disguise that is evil, at the empty cloak that is death, for you have picked these for your challenges.

They are the stones on which you choose to whet the keen edge of your spirit.

Know that ever about you stands the reality of love, and each moment you have the power to transform your world by what you have learned.

You are life inventing form. No more can you die on sword or years than can you die on doorways through which you walk, one room into another.

Every room gives its word for you to speak, every passage its song for you to sing.

What a blessed evening! How rarely are we given the chance to save the world from a new religion!

"We fly up high," I said trembling with insight, "and we have perspective!"
We see every choice and fork and crossroad.
But the lower we fly, the more we lose perspective.
And when we land, our perspective on all the other choices is gone!
We focus on detail: daily, hourly, minute-ly detail, alternate lifetimes forgotten!"

Flora in Oman - The first post on this subject

all bloggers welcome to post articles here in my blogspot

Nature in its Pristine form

Oman once upon a time some few billions of years ago was under the sea.

The rock formations clearly indicate. Here are a few magnificient pictures.

The long winding road

Harweel - The Middle of Nowhere

May third 2008 I started on a rather different phase in my life when I took a job overseas in Oman - Petroleum Development. Here I met some of the finest persons.

When you prove yourself they go out all the way, but the best part is here one has to be constantly improving all the time.

The heat is quite high in the open but all the offices and the transportation are good.

In the open it feels like going into a hot oven to be baked all over.

Ramblings of Jamshedpur

I wonder why I am calling it so but these pages are dedicated to my uncle N.V. Ramayya and his family. I don't really know much of them excepting for my sister the famous Nagampalli Krishna Kiran whom I lovingly knew as NKK. Yes after a long wait when I was in 9th or 11th Kiran came home. I still remember how many secrets we shared. But I remember she like all other girls do not keep secrets in her belly but spilled the beans to her mother, later the same came up as a ghory monster with claws all over which left scars on me.

Well even then she was yet "THE NKK". Well bonds grew we wrote to each other. She went on joined ICS in Delhi. I was in college and still studying, we saw Delhi Appu Ghar took a couple of pics there and moved on with life - both moved on in life, lost touch until recently Nagesh Annayya gave me Kiran's Radhika's and Tunni's ID and I added all of them in the vain hope that yes some day they will surely get in touch.

And yes after all these years Vyoma my niece did it. She got in touch with me this evening when I called it quits for the day. I was just about to pack up and GO - I received these lines which stuck on - "Hello, I am Kiran's daughter Vyoma" yes that did the trick. Thanks Vyoma for reaching out.

It was a pleasent chat and guess what you are a true replica of NKK. I never saw you till now but the way you have gone about reminds me of "THE NKK" I once knew.

I remember how lovingly we used to call Grandpa as Hitler but yet he is a darling.

Kiran - Hitler was feared once but later loved by all.

I got a nice warm picture of your family from Vyoma today I don't know how to thank her for it. The conversation was warm and nice. I hope we break the ice and speak to each other Kiran. You must be knowing Damodar Baliga - he also speaks about you and ness. Damodar was my Batchmate.

Guptaji you must have heard from Kiran about me. But I guess we too need to meet. I don't really know how or when but I feel it's going to be soon.

Any way be in touch - Vyoma has got all the contact numbers of mine. My email ID is umasankar.vkn@gmail.com

Miss you all

Umesh

Vyoma - This was Sunabeda where I was Born

SUNABEDA

Silver oaks,
In the avenue silent,
Wind blows
Leaves rustle,
Looking skywards,
A silvery layer,
In the day time,
Against the blue sky,
Elation,
Of the human mind.

On remembering Sunabeda, Sweet Sunabeda

This was on a friend at KREC Surathkal

PORTRAIT

Soft touches of the brush,
Swift smooth strokes,
(On the canvas fresh)
Sketches of a sweet face,
Bright and glowing,
Tresses flowing,
Black as the darkest night,
As time passes on,
The figure, the style,
Erased slowly from his head,
And from within,
A new girl is born,
Innocent and sweet,
Maturity traces
Appearing ……………………..
At a fast pace,
Thoughtful and worried,
Fashion conscious,
With time,
The artist ponders,
He begins to wonder,
As he grooms his maid,
In all splendour,
She slowly comes,
Of an age marriageable,
Wedding bells ………………
Her name like music sweet,
Linguistically ………………Ah!
Satisfaction,
Pleasure utmost
As the artist gives,
The last few touches,
The canvas dry,
Is all ready,
A true to life “portrait”,
Of the girl,
The dream
Of another artist young

This was on JOG FALLS
JOG

Climbing down
In quick rhythmic steps,
All converging,
To the one place
Eye catching,
Beautiful
The falls
Coming down in a fast trot,
That’s why it’s called,
The JOG falls.

IN SOLITUDE

Summer, winter, spring and fall,
I’ve watched the flowers bloom and drop.
Happiness every where, then filled with hope,
But now in the darkness alone I grope.
Desire nor hope and nothing like grief.
I now wish life was brief.
And once flung my soul, yes, I did,
Around which no fences blocked.
Or seasons of wishes like a slot,
To put its foot on my path
Or fling its vicious poisonous teeth,
As in this journey of mine I seek,
The only thing without which life is bleak
And gain access into that fortress large.
Shaped as a valentine on my path does shine,
And as each day of my life I pine,
Thinking if days of sweet roses and wine,
Will ever come to be mine

Poems

KREC
Yes I’m here,
The same as last year
And the sea breathes brine,
From its strange straight line
Down here, the same,
As first when I came
I guess I’ve wandered far,
From my home town quite,
Into an area where no picnics are
And where we can’t shut eyes
For too long a time

April Fourth, 1989
In a letter to Ms. M. Padma Priya

REBIRTH
Through a valley silent there,
Flows a stream slow with care,
Sheep and goats graze in summer,
On meadows God’s once did create.
Magical they are and seem to be,
Music of the rushing streams,
Clouds moving on majestically,
Mountains stand tall and stand on by.
The stream pauses on reaching a cliff,
It turns and twists before a thought comes,
Finally leaves everything,
And is ready to plunge,
Down headlong to the rocks below,
Then takes a form entirely different

July Eighth, 1989

LETTER
I thought to write a poem on you,
So beautiful and chaste so much you,
Words, words they flow keying in,
An eternal mystery a map before me

Your time, my time, hobby time,
I miss you, yes I do all the time.
Too many rhymes don’t sound nice; but,
I haven’t yet got a starting line.

Your face a wonder always dear,
So pure and sweet like a pear,
I don’t want to see on that face a tear,
I’ve never willed, nor will ever.

You were to me a mystery,
The day you left us, looked as though for ever
I always wondered and asked dad why,
Uncle ever got a transfer.

Dad said son that’s life, and,
You’re beginning to see it all,
How I hoped it’d change; and,
Hoped to see your pretty face again

I’ve always seen the harder part of things,
Ever since we last saw you,
May be god willed it just that way,
It seemed as though, it’s all unfair.

Times do change and sure they’ll,
I’ll come to see you in September,
Shocked and surprised you surely will be,
Don’t then hide behind your mother dear.

Things have changed and will continue to,
When will you be writing a letter or two?
Suresh told me you haven’t changed,
Since that time when I saw you last.

This I am writing to you from the class,
I wonder how much longer I’ll withstand the blast,
This man shouts at the top of his voice,
He’s a pain for all us metallurgists.

Ah! The class is nearly coming to an end,
Just another quarter of an hour or so,
I then will go to the post office,
And post a letter home.

May Ninth, 1989
In a letter to Ms. Yamuna Swamyappan

A Confession

He stole into my room, one day,
Told me something,
That he’d never tell,
Had I been awake?

As I sat a few minutes ago,
In the library reading the paper,
A stifling wave (of remorse) swept over me,
Guilty I was and now I am at your bed side.

These were the things he said,
“Thinking over and over was I,
And guilt so overtook me,
That here I am at your bed side”.

I had been angry; and,
Scolded you as you were dressing for school,
Cos you merely dabbed your face,
And bothered not to clean your shoes

Faults at breakfast did I find,
Not one but probed for more,
As you spilled some and gulped the rest,
Frowning I said, “God when will he really learn”.

As I came up the road from work,
(I spied and), Playing marbles you were on your knees,
Holes in your stockings did I find,
Firing I sent you into the house.

Later when I was reading,
I remember how you came in timidly,
Glancing over my paper, irritated,
“What is it you want”? Snapped I

Then you ran across in one tempestuous plunge,
Threw your arms around my neck
They tightened slowly with affection,
Which god had set blooming in your heart

That which god had set blooming in your heart
Which neglect could not even wither,
You kissed me my goodnight kiss,
And were gone, pattering up the stairs.

Then slowly afterwards,
The paper slipped,
When a sick feeling came over,
I wondered what habit was doing to me.

Of finding fault of reprimanding,
Though small you are,
I expected too much,
A measure by the yardstick of my own years

I am sorry son; and,
Besides your bed I now kneel,
Telling you how ashamed I’ve been,
(confessing all, to you my boy)
Now that you are fast asleep

Indonesia - and Kalimpongs

Indonesia and Kalimpongs - the jungles of Sumatra - the great Orangutans - the people so small in size compared to the Orang's - the simple nature open minded - should I say completely open - there are wonderful things like banana bunches as tall as an average Indian enclosed a picture for your eyes only.

Resorts and lovely beaches all around the country side - Singapore just a stones throw away - a one hour ride by ferry "The Batam Fast Ferry", Batam is the place I live in hence "The Batam Fast Ferry" - By God and that is a very Bumpy Ride in the ocean which is bound to give every one a feeling of what next, will I and similar half answered questions till the ferry slows down as it edges into Singapore.

Of Singapore the one thing that interests me is people using cycles, they walk unlike the development - just like the Europeans, I must say it is a good feeling, the air pure and nascent good number of trees to refresh the air every morning - come sunshine and one feels invigorated.

Batam Indonesia - a lovely place rains every day noon time and is rain time - heavy spells. Followed by sunshine and hence a tropical climate so true of the area's. But never seen a tidal wave hereabouts the sea is calm even in the heaviest of the heaviest thunder storms. The beaches are beautiful shallow for long long stretches but never come down running a mountain as the plunge is straight into the sea in most of the Islands on one side.

One village of Indonesia is as can be seen below.

Beautiful creations has its own ways:

Here one can find good number of mosquitoes, large variety of plants, great types of fishes, quite wonderous people eat anything from snails to whales.

Rajkot & Amdvaadi's

I could see the glint in the eyes of the GM (QS) now VP & COO of TPL at that time when during my interview he said' "Take Rajkot as your center." Without a second thought I accepted with a smile when he stated "that I was the first person to take Rajkot with a smile" - to which I replied I am going to Rajkot to stay at home with my Elder Brother who is in Tata Tele. So from home to home.

That was the time when my dear loving granny was enjoying her old age and we always admired her courage which she demonstrated through thick and thin in the family to stand proudly undaunted.

I bid farewel to my family who then were staying in Sharda Nivas in Chandanagar - Hyderabad. The new flat was in the making and Rosey draging the wonder kid Sushrut along took real pains to see that the flat was completed in style.

Mid July or August was the bad time in the family when my granny had a slip and fall and she fractured her thigh bone colse to the hip - same style as my grampa when he was still young - I think we can term that Osteoporosis the decay of the bone practically making it hollow and very brittle.

My proud granny wouldn't give up but went on to manage to stand up but again fell, refusing help from her daughter-in-law (my mother) she pushed her up to watch a programme after which she could not move an inch from there. My dad, mom, and their neighbours in my home town managed to get her back to bed but she refused in seeing a doctor.

The intution had crept in of the fag end of life was slowly inching its way through. Some how after a lot of pressure from my eldest brother who is a doctor who kept the facts away from us lest we get tensed up far away in a different state he took all the care and saw to it that granny was comfortable and would undergo the operation. Infact she must have asked a million times, over and over again, "After the operation - will I walk again" when she always got the confident yes. She finally gave in. She was operated and was improving - but the osteoporosis was doing its damage.

After the operation and a few days of rest she only walked for a few steps one day but after that she was bed-ridden. The doctors who were treating her gave up as she refused to take intravenous fluids. Her intake of fluids other than IV also lessened but she indicated to see Suresh and Self before she passes away. Due to non availability of reservations as both our families had small children we left them and both brothers went on the journey to visit Granny for the last time before she goes off on the pleasant journey to heaven for all the good she did.

We reached home - granny refused to respond when mother called her - daddy shouted at the top of his voice - no answer - our neighbour in Rajahmundry - called her aloud and indicated that we have come to see her. As bravely as she watched on to see us she braved a smile, we were there with her for a week talking to her every day. But she slowly reduced her intake of fluids. I must say she was a happy granny and saw whom ever she wished to see in the last moments. I reminisce the moments and thoughts of granny thats all I have of her now.

We bid her a warm farewell and started back to Ahmedabad. The day I reached Ahmedabad I received a call from my dad that granny passed away a happy lady with a cheerful face. I guess she deserved that. Daddy and mother went through an untiring phase in life wich suddenly ended and there was a certain amount of emptyness in the air in the house for an year to follow. Granny left a deep impact in the house a hollowness, an emptyness which no thought can replace. She is a woman every family must have and also be proud of.

But life does not stop we slowly went on with life, although the emptyness remains that's how life is and must be allowed to move on.

Ahmedabad saw a rapid change in the way I perceived life. With the first opportunity to return to my family yes I did and in June 2005 I was called back to the corporate office in Hyderabad for a greater responsibility.

Certain changes in the office setup and my posting caused a state of flurry in my life wherein I was almost certain to put up my papers if I was not shifted back to where I wanted to belong to in TPL Hyderabad. The fight was long and arduous almost a staggering three months finally I was sent of onto various postings including consultancy activities at NMDC Kirandul and Baliadila - close to my place of birth. Since the places always rung a bell of closeness to my place of birth I loved the feeling to go and stay there amongst the mountains and greenery and to feel one with nature.

After that trip of mine I was packed and bundled off to Delhi and then onwards to the Petrofac KOC Site in Kuwait where my journeys to the foreign legions began.

First posting in documentation - A field surveyor being put in documentation - My incharge in Petrofac Sharjah later indicated that from my next assignment onwards I would be given only inspection activities. But till competion of the PO placed upon TPL Hyderabad I was to continue. Yes I did perform to the fullest of my capabilities and both self and my Petrofac incharge at KOC site and Sharjah were pleased and to this day they acknowledge the work done by our initial team - Sunil Kumar (Fabrication - Inspection Engineer), Suresh Durga Rao (Documentation Coordinator - Sharjah), Umasankar {(Documentation Coordinator - Sharjah Posted at Kuwait) thats me}

Before I left for this KOC posting My better half the love of my live Monica whom I lovingly call Moto, got admission for the star of my life - Sushrut, in one of the finest schools in Hyderabad. All I was to do was go and pay the fees as a responsible father. Take the books cover them while my family was away for the summer vacation and keep them ready for the kids to go to school without any delay.

Children were still on vacation holidaying in Monica's favourite haunt her maternal uncle's (her favourite) house in Ludhiana, when I received my first overseas posting order and I started the first in my list of overseas assignments to come.

4th December 2006 was the end of the tenure in my first posting at KOC Kuwait site. Came back to Hyderabad to find my family off again to Jalandhar this time for a different occasion marriage of my brother-in-law. Further below I shall be posting some of the priced pictures of the ocassion:

Hyderabad the New Phase

Hyderabad the most happening city in the southern Hubub and ever expanding. Growth now a days seems un-imaginable. The city dwellers now are longing for peace and harmony with nature and wandering off to the suburbs.

2002 when I bid adeu to my most favourite haunt Jalandhar where I treasure my most happily formed friends in the family of Amarjit Singh a time now has come whereupon I shall treasure every step I have taken in Jalandhar to the newer discoveries that I would make in Hyderabad.

Two days after the Birth of Sushrut I trudged off from Jalandhar upon my new job in Hyderabad in CST Limited now known in the tube industry as CST Valinox Limited a branch of the French company Valtimet. This company housed one of the most dynamic President in my career Mr. Kashinath Rao Deshpande. I always wonder where he belongs to? With Hyderabaadi's he speaks the hyderabaadi hindi, with Kannadiga's Kannada and with all Maharastrian's Marathi, ofcourse the clear cut andhra style telegu. He is one whom we all admired. A very talented person I would say with what came off later on.

Here I met with some of the wonderful persons, Varaprasad - talented HR person, the one and only On-line by Murali Krishna (this carries the punch line which very few people can decipher), the dramatist Nageshwara Rao, the mallu babe Jubin Koshy slim and exhaustive beer consumer - I guess Kingfisher need give the babe a metered connection direct and he ought listen to Kerlafonia. He is one Mallu who never wants to go to Thubai to yearn yea living in Thirams and he never whore a lungi full, half or even one fourth. I onder how he yenjoi's. How can yenni one forget the famed cut throat Malli.

Through the famous galli's of CST I met some of the best in the Industry N.K. Ball from Lloyds Hyderabad a great person. One can learn volumes through him. Shiv Kumar from NTPC a wonderful friend indeed.

Due to some differences I decided to leave CST Limited and by then got a Job in TPL Hyderabad in Third party Inspection wing and my first posting was in Ahmedabad. That was when we purchased a new flat.

Monica untiringly saw through the house to completion while I was slogging away in Ahmedabad. She shifted along with our children to the new house. After a year I was brought back to Hyderabad.

Rendezavous in Jaipur

The affiliation for movement to Jaipur started way back in 1995 to the land of kings. Later on became the land of friends. My adventure to Jaipur began when the CEO Mr. S.D. Mathus contacted me through some common friend of ours. The first it was a short talk and then the invitation to go to Jaipur with my wife, Vanshaj was in the womb and Monica was having a tough time. We took the journey by Shatabdi the fastest train running then between Jalandhar and Delhi & Further Delhi to Jaipur. The CEO Mr. Mathur and his wife received us at the station a wonderful family and I should say a royal family.

The couple had a way of making us feel at home from the moment we stepped out of the train. We were taken away to one of the fines hotels in Jaipur by name Niros and we stayed there for three days with a sightseeing organised by Mrs. and Mr. Mathur. The rendevouz at Aapno Gaon was an experience by itself a memorable one, which we re-discovered once Vanshaj was born and he would sit down during our later visits and listen to the rabaab in rapt attention completely lost in the music.

After the interview was complete with Mr. Ashok Mittal and Mr. Nitin Khare both wonderful gentlemen had requested to join asap. which I did in approximately 45 days.

Although my stay with them was very short I recall the wonderful people whom I could make friends with while at Jaipur - Devendra Sharma & his parents. Rajesh Sharma from Karouli the are with the red standstone, B.P. Singh of Chittorgarh a rajput, true to the heart, a wonderful chap, whom one can never ever forget and last but not the least a gem of a guy.

I had to move away from this company Ultratech Metals India due to the health problems of Vanshu and so took the hard decision as the water did not suit the little chap we moved back to Jalandhar at a lower salary but till my Vanshu was stable to make more ardous journeys this fragile soul then after six and a half years we moved to Hyderabad where a new page in my life took a turn.

During our short stay in Ludhiana and Jalandhar we could manage and purchase property in the family. which was our first asset of a life time.

My Journey to Jalandhar

I remember clearly to this day August 12th 1990 I saw an advertisement for an Engineer in the Hindu Paper while I was in Sunabeda the place where I was born and was to spend a good part of my life including my schooling and I applied for that company amidst a big NO from my parents since there was this terrorism problem in Punjab at that time. But keeping everything aside I applied and on September 13th I started upon my journey to Jalandhar. My dad came to Vizag to see me off - after reserving a ticket in the II class compartment. I disembarked on September 14th and went of in search of a Hotel that was the first time I ever came to Jalandhar. I came upon the best hotel in Jalandhar city the Kamal Palace reserved a room freshened up and went on to attend the interview.

I was selected. I joined the company on 10th October 1990.

My journey in Punjab started. In 1991 I met Monica the girl who made my life went steady with her for almost 8 months and we were engaged to get married on May 10th 1992.

March 25th 1992 I resigned from my job at Jalandhar and took up a job at Bangalore. Married Monica on May 10th 1992 and went back to Bangalore. We were there from May to November.

I still recall our neighbours were mostly students and we used to play cricket outside our house every evening me, monica and the students. One student was from North India I do not remember his name but there was a cook by name Krishna who used to cook in his place and at times used to cook at our place just for the heck of it.

November 1992 I resigned and off we went to Ludhiana. My wife took up college life again and her friends used to come home and we used to visit them. One girl by name Sukhi and another Lekha. Sukhi was a very pretty girl she was a sikh girl where as Lekha a Bong her father a SAIL officer.

After 2 years and 8 months I took up an assignment at Jaipur. This was the first company in my career wherein the employer invited my wife for a two day trip along with me to visit Jaipur and the CEO Mr. S.D. Mathur and his wife who lives in 1 Bani Road made sure we fell in love with Jaipur and would certainly work with them. This company was in the making.

That was in 1995. Vanshaj my elder son was born that year in December. He was born in Jalandhar after a couple of months we brought the frail boy to Jaipur after which we had almost six months of a torturous stay as Vanshaj never kept well those six months. I finally in consultation with my better half found a job in Jalandhar and resigned from my job at Jaipur.

Jaipur was one place where our friend circle started. Devendra Sharma - a nice well spoken gentleman married now. I still remember his parents very - caring and gentle. B.P Singh (the Rajput) - another wonderful person to be with but never ever heard of him after I left Jaipur but do have hopes of meeting him sometime. Rajesh Sharma - He his wife and two children I meet them when ever I go to Jaipur. He is one who became very attached to Vanshaj and Vanshaj to him. Vanshaj used to always call him Jaresh when he was small. Rajesh hails from Karouli thats where the Red Sandstone quarries are in Rajasthan and they are called the Karouli stone.

During our stay at Jalandhar we stayed at 5 different houses in the 5 year 15 days of stay. the first house we stayed for one month as a makeshift house where we never slept even one night. It only held our luggage. From there we shifted to Jain Colony to the family of Jathedar Jaimal Singji where we had one room a kitchen and an attached bathroom. There was an attached bathroom which was a link to the family of Jathedar Jaimal Singh. The family which consisted of Jathedar Jaimal Singh, with his wife, their son Amarjit Singh and his wife and three children - Jasmandeep Kaur the eldest daughter, Amandeep Kaur the second daughter and Simarjeet Singh the youngest child and the only son. Jasman and Aman used to come home to clarify doubts in mathematics and the two girls and my wife used to chat and chat endlessly. That was the first time I came across such a wonderful family that has become a part of my own world. That was the beginning and I never ever imagined that this family with whom I stayed only for a year would become an intricate part of my life at that time.

They decided to sell off their house and we had no option but to move when they sold off their house with a promise to us that they would be most pleased to have us back once they had their own house.

We shifted to a Jain family house in the first floor. Where we stayed for two years. Vanshaj Joined pre-nursery here and that was where he learnt the first few lessons in life. We were just two blocks away from Monica's parents house.

When Amarjit Singh my ex-owner built his own house in Guru Gubind Singh Nagar Colony and one fine day Jasman, Aman and their mother whom to this day for some odd reason we call didi called upon us and told us to shift we did, to once again become a part of their family - Ties grew into strong bonds and to this day we maintain the bond the relationship that took us years to build.

Although we were there with them for only an year I remember every detail there.
Of Jasman there are many things that need mention - oops Jass sorry that I forgot to put in earlier - this little girl now engaged on the 27th May 2007 in Jalandhar - had managed to convince Vanshaj then in IInd grade that he ought to be a chemical engineer to be eligible to get married and lo when I was home from work Jasman and her pretty young sister pushed Vanshaj to me. Vanshaj came upstairs and said confidence fully boosted, "Papa main chemical engineer ban na chahata hoon", when asked why a chemical engineer - the beans was spilled. The pretty pair laughing practically fell on the floor.

Jasmandeep Kaur - before marriage
We moved to the last house in Jalandhar where Sushrut was born and the movement from Jalandhar then began - the quest to search for a new place a new land far from the wonderful list of friends we had gathered - there are many whom I have not mentioned. The most remembered are the only ones I have mentioned in my pages.
The quest in Hyderabad will take on a new chapter in my life.

Something Great:

Geographical Comparison of Women

Between the ages of 18 - 21 a woman is like Africa, she is half discovered, half wild..

Between the ages of 22 - 30 a woman is like America, Fully discovered and scientifically perfect.

Between the ages of 30 - 35, she is like India & Japan, Very hot, wise and beautiful.

Between the ages of 35 - 40 a woman is like France, she is half destroyed after the war but still desirable.

Between the ages of 40 - 50 she is like Germany, she lost the war but not the hope.

Between the ages of 50 - 60 she is like Russia, Very wide, very quiet but nobody goes there.

Between the ages of 60 - 70 a woman is like England with a glorious past but no future.

After 70, they become Siberia, Everyone knows where it is, but no one wants to go there.
