Unlike my official tours and trips which normally do not take me more than to the office and back this time while I was on a trip to Italy a place called Salice Terme – A place renowned for its famous sulphured hot water springs. Not that I have never been in one but I chose to stay out of the rotten smelly area’s. Well life has many other things in store.
While in Salice every weekend we Kees van-der Horst from PDO engineering and self used to go on long drives seeing most of Italy’s mountain sides and seas, we had the opportunity to even drive in the more famous alps. A once in a life time experience with all those meandering roads and the umpteen number of hairpin bends. Snow still blocking the mountain passes in May 2010.
The people of VI very warm and sociable, very little number of people knew or spoke in English. So if you are on your own with out a Tom Tom you are in the woods all lost. People give you blank eyed stares when you speak in English. They certainly will make you feel like an alien. The picturesque country side in Italy can be seen from the pictures below.
During my stay in Italy I had the opportunity of meeting Eugenio from CTR who introduced me to the marvels of nature as in the Mumbai – Pune - Nasik sector unknown to me as an Indian apophylite crystals available freely in nature. I was awe struck when I have had the opportunity of seeing them in nature on one of my trips to Mumbai. This will come on in one of my later blog’s.
As I continued my stay in Italy post my Shimla trip from 27th May to the 1st June which shall follow purely by pictures and a few lines here.
Post my return to Italy due to the amount of work increase and presence required all along we were mostly in plant and chose to stay out of travel for the last month, but Italy calls.
